What couples ask before booking

How many photographs will we get?
It depends on how long I'm with you. The Intimate delivers 250+ edited images across four hours, The Full Story 500+ across eight, and The Heirloom 700+ across a full ten-hour day. Every one is fully edited and delivered at high resolution — there is no separate "proofs versus finals" step.
How long until we see them?
Five weeks for The Intimate, six for The Full Story and The Heirloom. You won't wait that long to see anything, though — The Intimate includes a day-after sneak peek, The Full Story includes a same-day set of five photographs you can share that night, and The Heirloom a same-day set of ten.
Do you work alone or bring a second photographer?
The Intimate and The Full Story are photographed solo — one person moving quietly through the day, which is usually what documentary coverage wants. The Heirloom includes two photographers, so the getting-ready rooms and the ceremony can be covered from more than one angle at once. A second photographer can be added to either of the other two collections on request.
Is an engagement session included?
It's included with The Full Story and The Heirloom. With The Intimate it's booked separately — $195 up front, credited to your deposit when you book the wedding. It's genuinely useful too: an hour in front of a camera together before the wedding makes the day itself far less strange.
How far ahead should we book?
Wedding dates book up quickly, especially in peak season, so the honest answer is as soon as you have a date and a venue. Before that, look through the wedding gallery and decide whether this way of photographing a day is what you want. Then reach out — I reply to every inquiry personally, within one or two business days.
What's actually different between the three collections?
Mostly hours, and what you keep afterwards. The Intimate is four hours with one photographer and up to two locations. The Full Story runs eight, from getting ready through the reception. The Heirloom is ten hours with two photographers across the complete day, and it includes a custom 10 × 10 fine art album. The two longer collections add timeline planning; The Intimate includes a style consultation.
Do you travel outside the Sacramento area?
Yes. I'm based in Roseville and work across Rocklin, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Folsom and greater Sacramento, and beyond that I travel anywhere in California and the states around it. Travel is quoted at personalized rates rather than a flat fee, so tell me where your day is and I'll put a real number in front of you.
What happens if it rains?
We photograph it. A wedding date doesn't move, and rain usually makes a day more interesting to look at afterwards, not less — umbrellas, the dash between cars, everyone crowded under one awning. I'll work out covered options with you and your venue for anything that needs them, and keep documenting the rest exactly the way I would in sun.
How do we actually hold our date?
Reach out, we talk it through, and then the agreement and the deposit are signed through HoneyBook. Your date isn't held until that part is done, which is worth knowing if you're weighing up two photographers. Pricing for every collection is published on this page, so there's nothing to find out later.
We're not good in front of a camera. Does that matter?
Not much, because most of a wedding day isn't in front of a camera — it's getting ready, the ceremony, your uncle holding the floor at the bar. Nearly every couple tells me this before the day, and ten minutes in there's too much happening for anyone to remember they said it. If you want the practice first, an engagement session helps.
