Birth Stories

Some stories can only be told once

There is no experience quite as unique as the birth of a child. From the maternal strength to the first cry of life, this — out of any other day — you will want to remember.

Birth story documentary photography

Make sure you can cherish every moment, in the now, and forever.

When the time comes, I will be there, as a silent companion. My job will be to document every special moment without disturbing you.

My goal is to capture your baby's first cry, the first touch of sunlight on their face, the quiet intimacy the moment you hold your baby for the first time.

That's what I'm there for. I work silently, with no need for direction. I strive for the genuine shots, making sure these moments transcend the moment.

Every Part of the Story

A full birth story session includes every chapter — from labor to the cradle

Chapter One

Labor

You choose when you want to start the session. Whether it is the start of labor with a small shoot, or moments before the birth, I will capture your hard work and strength.

Chapter Two

Birth

Whenever that moment comes I will be positioned, present, and ready. Whatever your birth looks like, I'll make sure to capture the special moments.

Chapter Three

The First Hour

Skin to skin. First cries. The weighing and measuring of your precious child. The immediate postpartum hour is sacred. I stay to make sure nothing is missed.

A Few Things to Know

All birth photography is approached with deep respect for your wishes and boundaries.

When do I book?
As early as possible — I accept a limited number of birth clients each month so I can be fully available when the time comes. Most families book in the second trimester.
What if labor is fast?
I ask for a heads-up as early as possible. If your baby surprises everyone and I don't make it in time, we'll schedule a fresh 48-hour newborn session at no additional charge.
What types of birth do you shoot?
Hospital, birth center, and home births. Vaginal, cesarean, medicated, unmedicated. Every birth is a story worth telling.
How long will you be there?
I arrive during active labor and stay through the first hour postpartum — typically 4 to 10 hours total, though every birth is different. There are no overtime fees if labor runs long.
Do I need to prepare anything in advance?
Nothing at all. I don't need a "photogenic" space or a styled setup — I'm there for what's real. The only thing I ask is that you call or text me as soon as labor begins, even if you think it's early. Just let your care team know you'll have a photographer present; I follow all hospital and birth center protocols and stay entirely out of the way of medical care.
What does a birth session include?
Most galleries include 60–120 fully edited, high-resolution images covering labor, birth, and the first hour. Your photos stay private by default — I only ever share with your explicit written permission.

Your story is already beginning.

I take a limited number of birth clients each month. If you're expecting and want to make sure your story is documented, let's talk soon.
