Practical Details

The questions couples send me

How long is a session?
The Golden Hour is an hour at one location, which is enough for most couples. The Adventure runs longer and covers up to two locations and two outfits. The Proposal is covert coverage of the moment you ask, then a sixty-minute session right afterward, once everyone has stopped shaking.
How many photographs do we get?
Forty or more edited images from The Golden Hour, eighty or more from The Adventure, sixty or more from The Proposal. Every one is a high-resolution file, and the whole set arrives in a private online gallery that's yours to download and share. The Golden Hour and The Adventure are delivered within two weeks; The Proposal includes a sneak peek the same week.
What should we wear?
Coordinate without matching, lean into texture, and wear something you already feel good in. One outfit for The Golden Hour, two for The Adventure, and The Adventure includes a location and style consultation if you'd rather talk it through before the day.
Where do we shoot, and what time of day?
Somewhere that already means something to you — where you met, your favorite trail, the oak fields off Blue Oaks, the Granite Bay shoreline, old town Roseville. I shoot across Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Folsom and Sacramento. We settle the place and the hour on a planning call, and it's almost always the last hour of light. The session journal shows what that light does.
How far ahead should we book?
Sooner is easier. Send the inquiry form and I'll reply personally within one or two business days, and we'll find an evening from there. Nothing is held until the agreement is signed through HoneyBook, so the date isn't yours until that part is done. If the photographs are going on save-the-dates, work back two weeks from the day you want them in the mail.
Does the session count toward a wedding collection?
Two of the three wedding collections already cover it. The Full Story and The Heirloom include an engagement session, so there's no reason to book one separately with either. With The Intimate it's a separate booking — $195 up front, credited to your deposit when you book the wedding. The collections are laid out on the wedding collections page, and there are real weddings to look through in the wedding gallery.
